Join us for an afternoon of live jazz with the brilliant Jonny Ford Quartet, where you can enjoy a wonderful performance of modern Jazz with blends of Latin and funk.
Jonny Ford is a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator based in London and is one of the rising stars of the UK jazz scene. Having worked with a diverse array of artists and bands including Brian May, Roger Taylor, Mica Paris and Rebecca Ferguson, and was awarded the runner up in the prestigious Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition. Jonny has performed at prestigious venues and festivals across the world including the Last Night of the BBC Proms, EFG London Jazz Festival, Qatar Jazz Festival and the Royal Albert Hall.
David Kirby studied music at both the Guildhall School of Music and Goldsmiths University of London both classical and jazz. He jointly runs an 8 piece jazz funk band called Motet. As well as playing with many local musicians, he has also played with many of the UK’s leading jazz players: John Parricelli, Alan Barnes, Nigel Price, Mark Bassey, Steve Waterman to name a few.
Simon “Spud” Smith is a bassist and composer based in Harwell, Oxfordshire. An alumnus of ACM Guildford, where he was twice awarded Outstanding Bassist of the Year, he later studied choral composition and arranging with renowned composer and former King’s Singer Philip Lawson. Spud now works across jazz, classical and pop music as a bassist, teacher, arranger, orchestrator and composer.
Andrew Eveleigh is a graduate of London’s Drumtech with over 30 years of playing experience, gigging extensively throughout the UK, Andrew is an in-demand player and educator, now establishing himself as a regular on the London and South East jazz scene.
